LOS ANGELES -- Detectives have ended their investigation into an incident involving a missing 11-month-old girl.

Alderete was recently profiled on "
America's Most Wanted," and is being sought on a $4 million warrant issued by the Pomona Police Department. He is wanted in connection with alleged spousal abuse, rape, kidnapping and torture, authorities said Thursday.
However, kidnap charges were not filed in the alleged taking of the girl because there was no custody agreement between Alderete and his estrange wife, police said.
The baby was allegedly taken from the home of his estranged wife -- the infant's mother -- in the 7500 block of Irvine Avenue, the
Los Angeles Police Department reported.
When the family saw Alderete in front of the home, they ran into a back house out of fear because they knew he was wanted on kidnapping charges involving an ex-girlfriend, said Sgt. Kenneth Henkle of the LAPD's North Hollywood Station.
Alderete then broke into the home and took his 11-month-old daughter, Henkle said.
It appears the child's mother and her parents left the baby behind when they rushed to the back of the home, Henkle said. Alderete fled with the child, and then the family immediately called police, he said.
LAPD units and deputy U.S. Marshals responded to the scene, a Newsreel camera crew reported.
Police said no Amber Alert was issued because the type of vehicle Alderete may be driving had not been determined.
Alderete is Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has a scar on his left eyebrow, a short dark goatee, and tattoos of "Desiree" and "Hecho en
Pomona" -- meaning "Made in Pomona" -- on the back of his neck, and three dots next to his right eye.
Alderete was wearing a white T-shirt, a checkered flannel jacket with red lines on it, dark blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
Deanna is Hispanic with light skin and brown eyes, about 2 feet tall and weighs about 28 pounds. She has some of her teeth growing in, with a gap in front; a strawberry-colored birthmark on her right hand; and a mole on her right cheek. She was wearing yellow pajamas and pink stud earrings.
According to the "America's Most Wanted" Web site, Alderete is wanted on suspicion of spousal abuse, rape, kidnapping and torture committed Feb. 12 against an ex-girlfriend.
