DOWNEY, Calif. -- An Illinois man died at a hospital after the truck he was driving crashed into a light pole at the side of the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Downey, according to the California Highway Patrol.Traffic Report The 62-year-old man from Table Grove, Ill., was fatally injured at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday east of Woodruff Avenue, said CHP Officer D. Tafoya.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he died. Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of relatives. The cause of the crash was under investigation. Anyone with information in the case was asked to call the CHP.
