NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- One person was fatally shot and the suspected gunman was subdued by witnesses -- one of whom stabbed him -- during an altercation in front of a North Hollywood home on Saturday, police said. The shooting happened near Burbank Boulevard and Cleon Avenue at about 3 a.m., Los Angeles police Officer Samuel Perez of the North Hollywood station said. According to Perez, the gunman apparently fired shots from a front yard into a home, killing someone. The people inside the residence then restrained the alleged shooter. While he was being subdued, someone stabbed him.
That assailant fled the scene and remained at large. The suspected gunman was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where his condition was not immediately known, Perez said.
