CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. -- Officials Friday said that a student has been arrested in connection with the investigation into an online threat made against students at Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights.The student fully confessed to the accusations he made threats over Wikipedia.com, an online encyclopedia users can edit, according to officials."This is a warning. Do not remove this from this page. On Friday, April 18, 2008, there will be a shooting at this school ... Take this text down and it will guarantee their death so I suggest you don't," said the threat, posted online.
The threat named specific students and "a good majority of the badminton team."Student Junniette Salas said the student threatened to fatally shoot "about eight" students.Officials said they don't believe any more people are involved and that the investigation is ongoing.Students were sent home early Thursday from the school, and classes were canceled Friday as authorities investigated a rumored threat, three days before the ninth anniversary of the massacre at Columbine High School. On April 20, 1999, two students at Columbine High in Littleton, Colo., shot and killed a dozen classmates and a teacher and wounded nearly two dozen other people before committing suicide.School will resume on Monday, according to officials.
