Man Accused Of Videotaping In Restroom To Stand Trial

TORRANCE, Calif. -- A 30-year-old man accused of secretly videotaping a female colleague in a restroom at the Gardena business where they worked was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on criminal charges.Torrance Superior Court Judge William Hollingsworth bound over Ryan Dale Castillo to stand trial on one felony count of accessing a computer and making a copy and three misdemeanor counts of unlawful invasion of privacy, according to Deputy District Attorney Jodi Link.Castillo was arrested last Dec. 11 in connection with these allegations, then released after posting $30,000 bail.
Police were called to the business, Space-Lok Inc., after managers discovered that someone had installed wireless cameras in two of the company's restrooms, authorities said."After further investigation, they discovered that an employee of the business had a small receiver with several video clips of a female employee using the restroom," Gardena police Lt. Ed Burnett said last year. "It was also discovered that the suspected employee had hacked into the company's computer network and e-mail system."Castillo, who remains free on bail, is due back at the Torrance courthouse on May 27 for arraignment.
