UPDATED: 7:15 pm PDT July 4, 2008

A brush fire burned through 20 acres on Friday in Malibu, a county fire official said.

The fire was reported at 3:27 p.m. in a mobile home park near Las Virgenes Road, said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Frank Garrido.

"It started as a mobile home fire and spread to the brush behind it," Garrido said.

The blaze quickly spread to 10 acres and was holding at 20 just before 5 p.m., he said.

Fire officials reported that as of late Friday evening, the fire had been more than 90 percent contained.

Malibu Creek State Park was evacuated and voluntary evacuations were in place for residents on Mulholland Highway west of Las Virgenes Road, Garrido said.

No injuries were reported.
