Do you want a new cell phone for the holidays? Or a new cell phone plan? Many customers don't switch providers because they don't want to have to pay the fee for getting out of their contract early, but there are Web sites that provide a way out where you don't have to pay up.A study by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group shows that nearly half of all cell phone customers would switch carriers if they didn't have to pay an early termination fee to get out of their contract.
Check out CelltradeUSA.com: To get out of your plan, you post information about it online. If someone picks up your plan, you pay a $19.99 fee -- much less than an early termination charge.CellSwapper.com has a similar setup; you can pay a one-time fee to post your plan or post it for free and pay a $14.95 "success fee" if it gets picked up.At ReSellular.com, it will cost you $14.99 if you want to get rid of your plan.Picking up a plan is free on all three Web sites, and you can often get a cell phone and accessories free, too.The Web sites make use of a loophole that allows customers to transfer their remaining contracts to someone else, as long as they pass a background check.
