NB 14 Freeway Reopens After Truck Fire

LOS ANGELES -- Authorities closed the northbound 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road early Tuesday afternoon because of a big rig fire.Raw Video | ImagesOne big rig was engulfed in flames. Firefighters prevented flames from spreading to nearby brush.
The fire was reported at 11:53 a.m. Crews reopened one lane at about 12:30 p.m.The southbound lanes were not affected.No injuries were reported.According to the California Highway Patrol, the fire started on one of the vehicle's rear tires and sent thick plumes of black smoke into the air.
